Nvidia MOBA gamers rejoice, your favourite manufacturer has heard your voices.
NVIDIA has just announced two new budget gaming cards, the GTX 1050 and the GTX 1050 Ti- these GPUs are both based on the new GP107 GPU that uses 14nm process.
Did anyone ask for these GPUs? No not really, however Nvidia is making this to target the low end of the pc gaming market. These two cards will be priced at $109 and $139 for the Ti version. The only real difference between the cards, is with the Ti version having 4GB of ram instead of two, and 768 CUDA cores instead of 640.
Despite what Nvidia says these cards are not meant to be strongest with 1080p gaming (1920×1080) at 60fps, in reality these cards are made for low end store bought pcs, that do not have the space or power required to drive a standard $200 dollar card. The 1050 and its Ti sibling are for those who like LoL(League of Legends) and other similar games, and do not mind playing them on medium to low settings.
It is worth noting that AMD is rumored to cut the price of its Radeon RX 470 to $169 to compete with these new Nvidia cards. The 1050 Ti will be available on October 25th, while the 1050 will be out “on or before” November 8th. Expect customs versions of the cards to be released soon after.
