Thinking of getting a new dongle for your TV this winter? Amazon has just the offering with you in mind. Amazon has decided to upgrade its Fire TV Stick in time for the holiday season this year with two different products.
The new Fire TV Stick is similar last year’s model, but features a more powerful quad-core processor, which in theory will improve the user experience. It keeps the $39.99 price tag, and still maxes out at 1080p. 4K video fans have to instead buy a Fire TV set-top box, which starts retailing at $99.99.
The true changes come with the inclusion of a remote with microphone control- this should aid in the voice command aspect and also add to the user experience. Having full access to Amazon’s Alexa smart assistant will be a clear selling point for this upcoming shopping season.
This new Fire TV Stick release is of no real surprise- Roku said they will release new streaming devices for the upcoming season and even Google was rumoured to release a new 4k ready chromecast later in October.
