The public has voted and the panel of judges have made their decision; the twelve finalists for the first Yello International Bashment Soca Monarch Competition have been chosen. Thousands of votes came in from bashment soca lovers across the globe, from Sweden, to Switzerland, to the U.S.A. The names of the finalists were revealed at 3:30 PM this evening on 98.1 The One.
Just ahead of the announcement, it was regretfully revealed that Vincentian bashment soca artiste Dynamite had to withdraw from the competition. At the time of this article’s writing there was no word from the artiste addressing his withdrawal on his social media. He did, however, release the music video for his collaboration with Barbadian bashment soca artiste and reigning Bashment Soca Monarch, Stiffy, entitled “In Ah Style” this morning.
The twelve finalists are:

- Jagwa De Champ – “Face Down” (Barbados)
- Jah Reddis – “Bamm Bamm” (Barbados)
- Jus D – “Manager” (Barbados)
- Lil Rick – “Bend It” (Barbados)
- Marzville – “Roughness” (Barbados)
- Porgie & Murda – “Come Down” (Barbados)
- Rhea – “Bounce” (Barbados)
- Scrilla – “Ooh Ooh” (Barbados)
- Sita – “Hammer” (St. Vincent)
- Stabby – “Tongue Out” (Barbados)
- Stiffy – “No Boring Girls Allowed” (Barbados)
