Synopsis: Everyone has secrets… and Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) has dedicated her life to protecting and defending the public images of the nation’s elite by keeping those secrets under wraps. Pope’s team are at the top of their game when it comes to getting the job done for their clients, but it becomes apparent that these “gladiators in suits,” who specialize in fixing the lives of other people, have trouble fixing those closest at hand — their own. – ABC.
Why we’re watching: As tired as some of us may be of Olitz and the increasingly melodramatic and contrived nature of the show, it’s hard to let go of it. Despite its flaws, the show never ceases to be captivating and the cast continues to deliver stellar performances. The world needs more of Olivia and Mellie as a power couple (kudos to Shonda Rhimes for writing two female characters who have always been antagonistic toward each other because of a man, being able to settle their differences and work together to make each other’s dreams a reality) and we all need to see how their election turns out.
Recapped by: K. F. Cumberbatch
